METALLOINVEST’s Steel division comprises the Oskol Elektrometallurgical Plant (OEMK) and the Integrated Works «Ural Steel». The Plants are among the top 10 Russian manufacturers of steel and finished rolled products.
OEMK is one of the most modern and profitable steel facilities in Russia, employing direct iron recovery technology. This process, along with electric arc smelting, allows the Plant to produce metal of the highest quality, free of harmful residual elements and impurities. Owing to its unique characteristics, the Plant’s production benefits from stable market demand.
«Ural Steel» – is the leading Russian manufacturer of strips, pipe shells and bridge steel with the annual output of more than 4 mln tons of steel products per year. «Ural Steel» is the only world manufacturer of complex alloyed nickel-chrome pig iron produced on the basis of the local naturally alloyed steel . Due to its unique characteristics, this product is used for cating of the most important details and mechanisms designed to be used within aggressive environment and high temperature.
The Plants are located in the regions with developed transport infrastructure, allowing reduction of the transport costs and effective supplies to key customers both on the Russian and foreign markets.
